The GE Fanuc IC670ALG620 analog input module is a 4-channel analog RTD input module made for the Genius
Field Control system. The GE Fanuc Field Control station is a combination of a highly modular distributed I/O and
control system consisting of a Bus Interface Unit (BIU) and the corresponding I/O modules that meet the host
architecture requirements. The IC670ALG620 analog input module belongs to the Genius Field Control I/O module
family, but unlike other modules in its series, the IC670ALG620 analog input module only accepts inputs from either
3-wire or 4-wire independent RTDs (these can be platinum, nickel, nickel/iron, or copper RTDs). The IC670ALG620
analog input module is installed on a terminal block, which provides easy and simplified field-wiring, and it is enclosed
with a sturdy and compact aluminium housing.
Standard module features include user-selectable resistance measurements in any of the following units; tenths of
degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, or Ohms, an adjustable resistance measurement range from 0 to 500 Ohms,
automatic reporting of faults including high/low alarm, under-range/over-range, and open-wire conditions, dual data
acquisition rates, configurable channel activation settings, and support for optional discrete I/O for control and status.
The IC670ALG620 analog input module has 4 individually-isolated input circuits that receive analog input signals from
3-wire or 4-wire RTDs and then convert the analog signal to a 15-bit digital value for the block microprocessor. The
IC670ALG620 analog input module, by default, performs automatic calibration open startup, and this process is
repeated automatically every minute to compensate for ambient temperature changes. The IC670ALG620 analog
input module requires no loop power for operation because the excitation current for RTDs is automatically provided
by the module. This module also has an LED status indicator that shows the operating status of the module.
